As we approach the end of 2018 I would like to say thank you to all the dedicated volunteers, Board Members, and staff who ensure that the Library functions smoothly. I also would like to say thank you to the continued support we get from Thorsby and area residents- we love being able to work and serve in this community.

We have a new staff member- Shelly Wettlaufer who works on Tuesday evenings. Shelly started in October and is fitting into her role nicely.
As of September, the Library has new Tuesday hours and we are reopened on Saturdays. Our hours are as follows: Tuesday 10 am- 7 pm Wednesday Noon-7 pm Thursday & Friday 10 am-5 pm Saturday 11 am – 2 pm (except long weekends)
We will be open regular hours Saturday December 23rd (11 am-2 pm) closed Tuesday December 25th-Tuesday January 1st, and then re-open regular hours starting Wednesday January 2nd (Noon-7 pm).

We are currently planning our winter programs for 2019. Winter Programming will be printed in the Rec Complex Winter Guide and posted on the Thorsby Municipal Library Facebook page. Please contact the library if you have suggestions for future programs.
The Library has 2 kits that we offer for patron use; an L2D (Learn to Drive) kit which has resources to help someone prepare for the basic Alberta Driving Test and a Home-Grown Literacy Kit which is filled with activities and books to help pre-schoolers learn about colors. Come to the library if you are interested in signing either of these items out.

With your basic TRAC Library Card you have access to items from more than 170 libraries provincially including DVDs, video games, kits, books and magazines. The library also offers reading areas, free wi-fi, board games to play, public computers and printing. We also have many e-resources that gives you access to local newspapers, audio-books, e-books, music, movies, recipes from around the works, language learning software, homework help that is taken from current Alberta Curriculum, resume help and much more. If you would like to find our more about our e-resources visit the library during our regular hours.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday Season!
